Ninja Panda and Samurai Panda take a job that requires them to hawk Jon J. Murakami’s comic book, Gordon Rider. We hung out with Jon and his crew this past week for Kawaii Kon.
Gordon Rider is Jon’s goofy parody of superhero and Japanese sentai shows. Ninja Panda is dressed as the hero, Gordon Rider, who wears a toilet-paper scarf and whitie-tities over his pants (”Why do Superheroes wear underwear over their tights?”). Samurai Panda is dressed as his arch-nemesis, wearing the much-cooler school-uniform jacket and boxers over his pants. It’s a fun work that Jon draws with much inspiration and love; pick up a copy if you get a chance!
This was a giftart to Jon that was done in watercolor. I did some light touch-up in Painter, to make it stand out a bit more. I’ll have to ask Jon to scan in the original and replace the file later :)
Yes, second week in a row that Friday Odd Jobs was not released on Friday. On a happier note, that means the regular story comes out on this upcoming Friday.
